What I work on.
From idea to production.Designing, building and running software that's meant to last — much of it in the Java world, with the build and delivery pipelines behind it. For my own projects: Linux, Docker and CI/CD, infrastructure as code across several self-hosted hosts in the EU, with single sign-on and automated backups.
Between business and tech.Consulting across industries, project and product management, key accounts — I know both sides of the table.
Using AI where it helps.Building and running products, sites and tools with AI agents like Claude Code — with architecture, review and operations kept in human hands. Plus an honest view of where AI fits and where it doesn't, from local models to retrieval-augmented systems.
Working with people.Besides the technical work, I've led smaller projects and an on- and offshore support team, and colleagues often come to me as a sparring partner.
Background.
IT consulting.Many years as an external consultant with one of the large global IT consultancies, across health, insurance, automotive and the public sector — first as a developer, later leading an on- and offshore application support team in IT service management.
Enterprise software.Project management, professional services and product management at an ECM software vendor.
Manufacturing.Technical key account for a web-based shopfloor product, then its architect — including its build and delivery pipelines, from SVN to Git and a Jenkins-based CI setup.
Today.Architect on a product configurator, with a focus on where AI fits in.
It started with a Commodore C16 and C64, followed by training in the electrical trade and a degree in media informatics.
nuumoo.
nuumoo is where I build my own products, like WatchMyCalendar and echo — designed, hosted and operated in the EU — and where I write about building them. Mostly software so far, though not everything on the list is.
